• There will also be a digital device with a cuff wrapping around your arm. You might need to use a rubber squeeze ball to inflate the cuff. If you push a button, other types will automatically inflate.
• The pressure drops slowly on its own after the cuff is inflated. Digital reading of your systolic and diastolic blood pressure will be displayed on the screen.
• The cuff will deflate on its own after your blood pressure has been shown. You have to wait 2 to 3 minutes with most machines before you use it again.
• If your body moves when you use it, a digital blood pressure monitor will not be as accurate. The reading will also be less accurate due to an irregular heart rate. For most people, however, digital monitors are the best choice.
