OUR Birth,

In the world of healthcare, one of the most important revolutions in free India occurred in 1952: Medical Devices. Late Shri. Ram Lal Khanna and his two sons founded “Romsons Scientific and Surgical Industries” as a partnership firm in Amritsar with a capital of Rs. 10,000. Scientific and laboratory equipment, such as laboratory wares and re-usable surgical devices and sets, were manufactured by the firm.

In the 1960s,

1962: We relocated our headquarters to Agra (UP), seeing the need to transfer company operations to a more geographically situated location in the country in order to improve delivery. 1967: We began producing disposable medical instruments at the same time. We developed our first ever disposable medical device in this year, a non-sterile Nelaton Catheter (Urethral Catheter). We experienced intermittent development at this stage. The board of directors decided to develop and open new units one by one, each with a specific variety of products and production techniques. This critical move allowed us to expand our product line to meet an unmet consumer need. Raj Vijay Corporation was a unit of Raj Vijay Corporation.

In the 1970s,

Romsons Junior India, a unit that manufactures a variety of infusion devices, was established in 1971. 1974 : The first sterilization plant for medical devices was established at BARC in Mumbai, marking a watershed moment in the industry. This has proven to be a blessing for India’s entire healthcare industry. Romsons Scientific & Surgical Industries, a partnership corporation, became a private limited company in 1977. The board of directors voted to exit the laboratory equipment market at this time in order to concentrate on and expand the medical devices industry.

In the 1980s,

We were the first medical device company in India to establish an in-house sterilization plant in 1984. The unit Romsons Medicons was also founded this year.

In the 1990s,

CBI, Netherlands, invited the Romsons group’s directors to engage in a gathering, show our goods, and learn about exporting to the European market in 1990. This was another major milestone for us, and it paved the way for the establishment of our 100 percent export-oriented unit in 1994. Our 100% export-oriented unit, Romsons International, was established in Agra in 1994. We developed an in-house tool room for mold repair and maintenance, as well as an R&D department for product production and design, in 1998. 1999 : We received ISO 9002:1994 certification (Certificate Date: 28/04/1999) and CE mark recognition, which is a prerequisite for exporting to European countries.

In the 2000s,

We received ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2003. 2006: For mold production, we obtained and assembled our first CNC milling machine. We received ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 certifications in 2007. We launched the SAP ERP framework in 2008 to improve management and enforce best corporate practices by making fast and effective business decisions. Romsons International Unit II (Noida – SEZ), a new development unit, was founded in 2009. This was also a significant achievement since it was the first time we opened a manufacturing facility outside of Agra.

In the 2010s,

We received ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2003. 2006: For mold production, we obtained and assembled our first CNC milling machine. We received ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 certifications in 2007.
