Dental Light cure machine
A dental healing light is a piece of dental equipment used to polymerize composites based on light healing resin. It can be used on several different light-curable dental materials. The light used falls below the visible spectrum of blue light. This light is supplied over a range of wavelengths and varies for each device type. There are four basic types of light sources for dental healing: tungsten halogen light emitting-plasma arcs (LED) and lasers. Halogen and LEDs are the two most common ones.
Likewise, the halogen and LED healing light are operated. Both of these lights require the operator to press a button or trigger to turn on the blue light. A trigger is pressed for the halogen curing lights. The older models require the operator to hold the trigger down to allow the light to emit, unlike newer models that only require pressing the trigger once. A button is placed on the device for the LED lights. For both the newer halogen lights models and the LED lights, the light will remain on until the timer expires after pressing the trigger or button. It is placed directly over the tooth which has the material in it until it is healed after the light is on.
The development of this new technology has given way to new resin materials that are activated by light. These new materials differ greatly from the previous ones. There is no need to mix these materials and they can be delivered directly to the site. Only with a dental curing light can this new malleable resin material be fully healed/hardened. This presents new benefits for dentists: the time constraint is now lifted and the dentist can now ensure proper placement of the material.
